Im trying to instal linux so I attempted to make a back up and got the error code 8001002a. so I did some searching and found out that means there is corrupted data. after looking in every spot I could think of i try to open folding at home 1.31 and it froze after restart it said file corrupted under folding at home. Does this mean the hdd has to be reformatted?

just reinstalled folding@home and updated but there is still corrupted data. folding@home 107MB corrupted data 764KB but I don't think that of any importance.
