China Mobile has said that they are closer than ever to striking a deal to distribute the Apple iPhone in China now that the largest hurdle in negotiations has been cleared, the dropping of revenue sharing. I was under the false impression that the Iphone was "made in china". I guess I learn something new everyday. whoever owns an Iphone can you look in the back and see where it was made. I'm just curious who makes them.

Final assembly is in Taiwan, but the parts come from the US, Korea, China and Taiwan.

Why are all these "iPhone releases in * country!!!!!!111111!" articles big news. I mean I'm sure there are already thousands of iPhones in China or Australia or Turkmenistan or whichever place is supporting them next. And I know it is quite easy to bid on ebay. So whats the big deal?
