I have several DVD players Pioneer, Panasonic and APEX.

All DVD players play DVD- and + DVDs but my DVDXCopy only plays in the cheap ($46) Apex.I have not found another DVD player that these backups will work in. I have tried numerous others.

When I use other DVD burners there is a way to make the media play in all players. How can I achieve this with DVDXCOPY or do I have to update to the new DVDXcopy?

Any help would be appreciated

Those Apex players may be cheap but play just about anything. You didn't say what brand and type media you are using, but I'll guess its +R blanks. If so, try -R media which seems to be more compatible with players.
Yes I would update X copy is there is one available.
