COD4 Maps From US

Hello,
I own a UK PS3 60GB and i bought Call Of Duty 4 off a website (http://www.365games.co.uk/) and it looks like its an American game. I think this because it has a M sign instead of 12+.
I want to buy the new maps from the playstation store however on the decsription it says "this content will only work with DISK ID xxx.xxxx.xx" and the DISK ID doesnt match the same one as mine.
Will the Map Pack work with my game even though it says it wont. I am asking as i cant really understand why Sony would restrict the Maps to work in a certain Area, restricting the Area would also restrict sales.
Any help will be appreciated

The maps are region locked...if you do have a US game you would have to download the maps from the US store.
What is the region code on the back of your game? UK games are region 2.

It doesn't say, iv read it all the way through. Just trust me though its Region 1, it even says manufactured in USA.
Thanks for the reply BTW. Just one more question.
If I setup an American PS Account and buy the maps will i then be able to transfer the Maps to my current UK PS Account or Do the maps save to the PS3 hard drive.
Many people like breakfast in bed so i say why not just sleep in the kitchen :-)

When i installed my uk maps they were available on all of the accounts on my PS3, so i would guess so.
On the back of your ga,es case there should be a small picture with a globe on it, something like this:
Region 1 is US, 2 is UK/EU, and 3 is japan AFAIK.

here can u help me i have a irish ps3 with the irish cod4 but i got maps off a fella from usa andi installed them in all but they dont wor can somebody help me

The maps are region coded...you will have to download them from the store of the region you are in, which should be region 2 if you are in Ireland i think.

This is hilarious, when they announced PS3 games were not going to be region coded It was some of the greatest news ever for gamers, but still Downloadable content is region locked
One step forward and then another step back :P

Oh iv found the region code its region 1 (it was on the side not back or front).
Thanks again for all the help. But can i just clear this up.
If i create a US PS Account and download the maps they will save to my hard drive and i can then go back to my current UK PS Account and use them. =)

AFAIK, yes. I have the UK version, and when i downloaded the maps they we available on ALL accounts on my PS3. As i haven't tried with the US version i cannot guarantee it, but i would expect them to work because your UK account works on your US copy of the game.

Just tried to download and it wont let me because i dont have a American credit card so thats another problem. Looks like ill have to buy PS netowrk cards.

look into "pre paid credit cards". you can get them online so you should be able to sort it out.
