Hi, could anyone please tell me if it is possible to burn Wii isos with Vista 32 bit? I have the business edition, don't know if this makes a difference.
I've tried just about EVERY burning program from Nero to Image Burn etc with no success.
Had no problem burning Isos with XP, worked fine. I burn at the lowest speed and have never had problems before with the media i've used.
Any help welcome.
Thanks.

Of course its possible. I burned several games from a friends laptop with 32bit vista when my DVD burner died on me and I was waiting for the new one I'd ordered to come in the mail.
I used imgburn and burned my Verbatum DVD-R's at 4x. Every one of the disks I burned worked and still do.
Try burning at 4x, I've found that burning too slow can result in as many errors as burning too fast.

I've only ever used vista to burn games. ImgBurn at 2x on memorex -r and never had a failure.

Thanks for the response but still doesn't work at 4x speed.
Strange thing is I can burn Gamecube backups no problem.

Hey Gibbet,
I use Vista Home Premium and have had no trouble burning iso's. What exactly is the error message that your getting? More info will give us a better idea of what were dealing with here.

Hi Lillith. Get no error messages during burning with any of the burning programs. My Wii says unable to read the disc when i load it up.
I do get an odd message with Img Burn when i start it to burn - it says to close Windows media player, which I haven't even started.
So I used task manager to close it down and burn with no apparent problems, but then same thing Wii is unable to read disc.

Hi again Gibbet,
Ok I did some looking around and may have found something interesting. Over at the Imgburn forums there's a similar situation reported with Vista Business. The guys asked if WMP was going in the background? So maybe you might want to have a look at this. I'll post the link for you

They made mention of the FAQ so I'll post that here too.

Something about update drivers for IDE device also. I hope that one of these solutions may be helpful for you. Let us know how it goes. And good luck!

Thanks for the info Lillith. I'm still stuck with the same problem though. Really baffles me how I can burn Gamecube backups no problem but not Wii.
Didn't want to have to install XP, but looks like I might have to, never had problems with that.
Thanks again.

So, your NOT having problems burning the disc, as the thread title suggests, you're having problems with the Wii reading the discs?? Is that correct? You haven't said what firmware your Wii has or what modchip and version you have. If you're Wii has firmware 3.3 on it, this could be your problem depending on the iso's you are burning. Need More Info.
