Your code:Try this ONCE and ONCE only. Remember,
you only get 3 to 5 tries.
If you enter the same code two times,
that is two tries.
To enter code:
Make sure battery is charged.
Remove SIM first.
Power on.
Ignore ?Insert SIM?
Press the # key.
then press the "star" key (*) quickly to get the P and W and +
Press * 3 times quickly for (p) \
Press * 4 times quickly for (w) IMPORTANT
Press * 2 times quickly for (+) /
and the rest of the code---
Begin with # and end with #.
IMPORTANT!!
Verify code before pressing the last #.
Pay attention. You only have about two seconds.
"Phone restrictions off", it's unlocked.
"Error code" wrong code. STOP tell me.
"Not allowed" or "Can Not Undo Restriction" it's hard locked.
Used up all your free tries!!
If it does not work, tell me: What happened? What message
you got. What codes you tried.
Above all, answer.

Note: If nothing happens, the code
remains on the screen and you see NO message.
Some Phones require that you to insert
a SIM from a new Network. Before you
do this, make sure the sim and phone you use
does NOT have a Security or PIN CODE. If it
does, reset the PIN and security codes to
default (1234 and 12345) with the original
phone. Insert a new SIM and turn
it on. You will see "phone restricted",
select the UNDO option, then enter
the "#pw+code+X#" code in the restriction box
and press ENTER (OK).

I am new to this as well. but I need to get an unlock code for a nokia 6030 IMEI: 010712009699933 it is a cingular phone. if that is possible that would be great to get. thanks!

Thanks JoeGons for your help.
When I tried the code you gave with the SIM out first nothing happens on the cell.
When I inserted the new SIM from the new provider, powered on and input the PW code you gave I get a "Code Error" message and I stopped.
Any further ideas appreciated.

Glad you stopped.
How old is the phone?
When did you buy it?
It may be that Digicel has changed its Mobile Network Code as it did in Trinidad.

Phone was bought approx 3 years ago. Was unlocked and used with Provider O2(UK) and now with Digicel(Barbados), but want to use it with Cable & Wireless (Barbados).
When phone is switched on it says Welcome to O2 and then displays the Digicel Menu, but wont accept the C & W SIM card.

OK Sparky,
If the phone works on Digicel, it is not locked.
The phone is from the UK and that should have been the info to give me.
Also, it is a Duel-band phone from the UK and works on 900/1800 Mhz.
C&W Barbados work on 850/1900 Mhz. It will not work on C&W Barbados.
It will work in bMobile TSTT Trinidad.

That is to say, if it works with a Digicel SIM, it is not locked.
If it picks up Digicel with an O2 SIM, it is roaming and can be unlocked to work with a Digicel SIM.
