As for those who read my previous posts, they'll know my Wii got wasted after the wrong modchip was put in.

I just purchased a new Wii and now it's probably got the D2C chipset and so I'm going to get it modded.

What are the things that I have to see to confirm that the mod chip is functioning correctly?

Here's what I've thought up of so far:

1. Backup games are working
2. Dual layer disk games are working
3. See if originals are working (I.E Chip deactivation test)
4. IF HE'S ACTUALLY PUTTING IN THE RIGHT CHIP

And yes, Idea's on which modchip I should get are most welcome since I can't find any good results. Keep in mind I'm going to play Brawl A LOT on a DL disk.

If you just purchased it's more likely it has a D2C v2 chip so you're looking at a D2Pro v2 as the most compatible modchip.

Thanks, but that's probably not locally available here.

Well in that case you're locally out of luck for a modchip.

Piece of advice. When you do get your Wii Modded ask the modder if there gonna swap the DVD Drive, alot of them do for them to make there money and to get your Wii Modded. I got mine modded last week and he ended up putting up a D2Ckey Wii Clip after i told him to put a DPRO9 Rev2 but so far so good no issues on my Wii Runs every game back up i put into it as well with the originals. Anyhow you list is pretty much i did but the fact the modder was not honest due to the fact that he couldnt mod the original and DVD Drive so he swapped it. I found out by taking aprt my Wii and wrote every single serial number or coding numbers on the drive as well w/the motherbnoard. Be careful some dishonest modder might jus swap your whole Wii with a bad Motherboard that causes your Wii to ARTIFACT and the drive to crash. So good luck and be careful. Oh just for your FYI these modders have stack full of drives and mother board layin around so be aware on what your getting and what you paid for

Okay, suppose I get a D2pro v2, how am I supposed to install it?

I saw the installation pdf on their website but it didn't really make sense to me. I know a technician who can solder well but I'll have to guide him on what to do, is there any comprehensive guide for installation on a D2C2 chipset?
