HELP: I don't know where this piece on dvd drive goes

Yesterday I was installing a mod chip and had to take the dvd drive out to install some screws. The problem is this little white piece fell out as well as what looks like a small coiled spring. My wii has power but seems like it won't eject any games.

1) I"m not sure if it broke or if it fell out
2) not sure if I need it
3) I don't know where it goes

I've uploaded some pictures of what the piece looks like. Hopefully someone can help me out. Thanks
