RROD Sometimes HELP Please

MY xbox just got the 3RROD so I did the xclamp fix by removing the xclamps putting on new thermal paste then put new screws in. I tried the penny fix with it as well and my xbox booted 1 out of every ten trys then I tryed the eraser fix with the same results. When I woke up this morning it didn't work at all. I used OC Frezze cooling paste and when I put it on the chips I made it sort of smooth. Do you think I should the cooling paste more evenly(it was pretty close to even)? Is there any other fixes I can try? My xbox has error code 0102 I read about how to fix it on the Ultimate RROD thread. Any help would be appreciated.

well it sounds like you are going wild. i mean did you try the x-clamp fix and then try it again when it didnt work the first time? thermal paste is key to what you are doing as well. how about u post some pics for us to check out.

There is NO guaranteed fix for the rrod... PERIOD. A lot of people will have some luck, others won't. It appears that your 360 is too far gone.

Well every time I put on the cooling paste it gets mushed around it dosn't harden very well. I have had it working before is it possible to do the heat gun fix with a blow dryer? I will show some pic once I take it apart agian.

Naw... a hair dryer doesn't get hot enough.
As far as the paste, I don't think that's your immediate problem. If you didn't apply the paste right, the 360 would turn on for a bit, then shut down because of overheating. You're still having a problem with the gpu being separated from the mobo.

I have tried over heating it many times so it can solder back together. It never seems to work I wonder why it was working yesterday. Also if this matters yesterday somtimes it would turn on and work with RROD and didn't even frezze or stop. Is there another way to put the mobo to the gpu? I don't have a heat gun and don't know how to solder.

I expanded the heatsink mounting screw holes on the bottom of the steel case with a 3/16 drill bit then i drove the M5 screws from the bottom of the case right through to the motherboard, this allowed the GPU and CPU to sit flush with some added pressure of course. My box has been running strong for 6 months now without any problems. I also used 3 washers on the bottom then i used 2 washers on the top(nylon first then 1 steel) to complete the fix.. Just a reminder that tightening will be a mother because you won't have much thread left on the m5 bolts so your going to have to put some elbow grease on the heatsinks(press down on heatsinks while tightening the screws under the case, without breaking the motherboard of course!!!) to tighten.. My 360 fired right up because the amount of pressure the gpu had was good enough that the system didn't have to be overheated..

When you say 3 nylon washers on the bottom do you meen 3 under the motherboard or the case? Did this solution work for you in a case like mine? Thanks for the help!
Edit( Are the three washers metal or 2 metal and one nylon)

Hi, 3 washers are metal underneath the motherboard then on top you use 1 nylon washer plus 1 metal, that's all...

HI would it be safer to put 2 metal and 1 nylon washer under the motherboard just so you do't hurt the motherboard? If you put three metal ones underneath isn't there a chance of harming the mother board?

the reason you are using nylon is for static, and yes you should never have forien metal touching a mobo of any kind.

Sorry, yeah the third washer was nylon for the bottom.. It's been a while since i did the rrod fix...

I bought some longer screws would those help with the fix? If this dosen't work I will probably buy another broken xbox fix it and put my dvd drive in that xbox because mine is flashed. Is there anything special I have to do to switch the drives?

Actually I over heated it and now it doews work now it freezes around 2 minutes into the game. I just bought a cooling dock and a whisper fan do you think those will stop the freezing?
