Okay, I just got my new 60gb PS3 yesterday and am having a blast with it. I upgraded to FW 2.40 from 1.51 and downloaded the Grid demo from the PS3 store. I was wondering what happens to the fw update file after it is downloaded and installed. I'm assuming fw update files and the Grid file I originally downloaded are both deleted after they are used for the install, but am not positive. I guess I'm just used to my PSP where you download fw update files and then have to go into the XMB and manually delete them. Just don't want files like the 900 mb Grid demo install file floating around and taking up space without a way to delete it. Again, I don't see the install file in the XMB after the install so I'm assuming it is just deleted. Anyway, thanks in advance for any and all help.

FW 2:40 got pulled because it had issues with some peoples PS3....

I'm just wondering what happens to the files that are downloaded to the PS3 harddrive. Are they automatically deleted from the harddrive after an install?

Either they're automatically deleted or stored in the 10GB that the ps3 O/S took out of your hard drive. Either way I don't think you can manually delete it like you can on the PSP where the update comes up under the GAME menu.
