Do you think i should send my console back to m$ or fix it myself? I already have two RROD fix kits(i bought them a while back figuring this would happen).. one for gpu and one for cpu along with the arctic silver thermal paste. The only thing im worried about is the fact that i could get a lite-on drive(i think thats the newest drive). I wouldnt have a problem with that except i wouldnt be able to mod it. Any opinions? Thanks!

I dont think there is a LITE-ON drive for the 360, was just a rumor. If you are able to flash all the samsung, hitachi and benq drives, or know someone who can do it for you, then you should probably just get it sorted by microsoft, if not, then you could try fix it yourself.

Just had a look just in case, and there is a new drive, sorry bout wrong info. If you definitely want a flashable drive, then fix the one you have right now, imo 3rrod with the 0102 error are really easy to fix, fixed around 6-7 now, all have been working fine ever since.

Yeah lilg, you were mistaken, know people who have gotten the liteon. MS is smart as heck putting those drives in there to make it hard to flash.

just because they fix ROD dosnt mean they are going to swap out your drive. its a risky gamble. one personally that i would take. it'll get hacked sooner or later even if you get it. but i wouldnt count on getting it. from what i see they are MAINLY shipping with newer consoles.

I have a flashed sammy few months ago then I got the rrod deicided to send it mo MS (even its flashed) 15 days after got my 360 back sent to the modder, modder said CAN'T BE FLASHED ITS BCUZ IS A LITE-ON DRIVE so better fixed it your self or get a lite-on drive. right now my 360 is just sitting and haven't touch it since, and thats a fact.

if u can flash a drive then u are probably capable of fixing a 0102 ...

got a 0102 about a month ago - sending it to M$ was not an option so i gave it a shot myself - easy proceedure - just be patient and take ur time ...

Yes, you are correct, however in most cases you dont get the original console you sent in back, they send you another refurbished console, and your faulty one is then in que for repair and will probably be sent of to someone else in the future.

well, i did the RROD fix last night and it seemed to work fine. I did not play a game yet, but am hoping that it works. The only thing that i am disappointed in is that my ghost clear case i bought a while back doesnt fit that well anymore.... oh well.. as long as my 360 works. Anyone know a good place for some window kits and/or skins for the regular white console. I may try to paint it and do some modding with it to make it look better. If anyone can point out a tutorial maybe or something, id appreciate it. Thanks for all your help!
