I have a genuine 8gb memoy card, and every time i plug it into my PC it says it needs to be reformatted first, so i allow it to format however it just reformats forever and doesnt complete. It happened because i was copying over some music but i umplugged it while it was copying and it hasnt worked since

Is there anyway to bring the memory card back working again...any sort of program?

Actually I think the memory card is dead. Replace it under warranty, the 8GBs haven't been out for a long time and will definatly be under warranty. Whoever the manufacturer, don't tell them you unplugged it while copying data to it.

How does a memory card die? I ask because I have a 1 gig and I'm trying to figure out what happened to it. PSP won't read it and Windows says it's RAW and the size of the disk is 0mb. I turned it into a Magic Memory card then tried to turn it back and it dosn't work now.

Both your memory sticks are most likely under warranty.
It dies with many writes on the card (usually over 1000 FULL FORMAT type writes, as in writting to every memory cell) Other times its just defective when it comes out of the factory. I had a 2GB die once when it was in a digital camera. My friend had a 4GB die overnight. They just go bad. You can't predict it either which is the sad part.
For your 1GB, try to reformat it through the PSP or create a partition on it.
R-click My Computer-> Manage->Disk Management->Choose your drive and Right Click and say Make Partition or something like that.

I would make a partion but windows says the size of the disk is 0mb so if i try it'll say something like the allocated whatever is to small. Or it'll say formating not available for RAW. I'm going to try a 3nd party partitioning software.
