Jokes aside what media are you using? Tell us more info like what region is your Wii, the game, what firmware is your Wii on, etc.
My Wii region is USA, and the game is also USA too. I am not sure how to find out the firmware for the Wii but I haven't update it since I got it and its a d2c2 chipset.
Also, the game load in the Wii menu but when I select start the screen turns black like its loading but stays black for hours if I don't do a hard reset.
You can check the firmware by going to Wii (Bottom left corner) then Wii settings and the firmware version number will be in the top right (Example: 3.1U/3.2U/3.3U).
Where did you get the Mario Kart backup? Has it been patched at all?
If the Wii firmware is 3.3U and you have a patched version of the game the Wii could be blocking it from working.
If it is 3.2U or below then it should work. Make sure your burning with quality media (Verbatim/Tayio Yuden) burn with IMGBurn at 4X speed.
Hi I get the same problem the mario kart i got my hands on had been patched so that could be the problem my wii is uk pal and so was the mario kart iso...

My Wii is version 3.1U and I it from "QwiiF" and I disable the update with WiiBrickBlocker_v1_3R2. I burned it with Verbatim, but I'll try again.

Ok same thing happened. The Mario Kart Wii loads in the Wii menue but when i click on start it fades into a black screen and stays that way. Nothing happens look like it froze for something.
