Should I update or no?

Last night I updated my WiiKey to 1.9s and tried some games such as Guitar Hero Aerosmith, Mario Kart, Top Spin 3 and all of them posted "Unable to read disc". I went ahead and updated my Wii through the menu system to 3.3U on the internet and its still showing the same problem. I then tried the 1.4 Config and turned everything on and 6x DVD and still the same problem. Now this is the weird part. I then poped another copy of Mario Kart into the system and it works for only 20-30 secs and then the "unable to read disc" message pops up again. I then took a different copy of Top Spin 3 PAL version and it asked me to update. I hesistantly click accept and it was trying to update. I reset the wii and my settings still show I have version 3.3U, but when I try to do a test connection through the menu system, it asked if I want to run an update? Is it safe to update or no? Is that the PAL version lastest update now that I accidently update using the TOP SPIN 3 disc? Also it now has duplicate channels such as the weather one and something else. I read you can just move those aside to the 2nd page. But does this duplicate stuff have any impact on my system? Thanks!

different region? dont do it. same region? go ahead. but btw, 3.3 blocked alot of patch stuff so your old back ups might not run so gl with that.
