So I am new to 360 modding, and plan on getting a 360 to use only for backed up games and nothing else. What I am wondering is which drive is generally considered to be the easiest to flash? I read the textbook and am still left with that question. Any advice would be great. Thanks.

Heck they are all easy in there own way IMO except the Hitachi 0079. Avoid that like the plague. You might as well try to get a new one with a Falcon and a Benq drive. With anything else you are pretty much rolling the dice of a nearly inevitable RRoD.

I have identified the drive on an older 360 I have as a Samsung, is it that one? How do you tell, if there are different Samsung drives?

Its a way old machine, can I just assume its flashable and go ahead and void the warranty? 2006-01-10 to be exact.

all samsungs are flashable, so go ahead and crack the case open. its either going to be a 25 or 28 drive.
