I burned my first DVD+R DL on Imgburn no problem, worked like a charm and the DVD is still working, however, i have tried since then with zero success. Every time, no matter what i do, the drive will not read the DVD and will give me the error message "Device not ready. (No Reference Position Found)".

I have gathered so far that this has something to do with the drive not working, but it has just worked yesterday, so what happened in the 10 minutes between my first burn and my second burn to make it go wrong. The drive is no longer burning/reading anything. any advice?

I'm not 100% sure that this is you problem, but from my use of ImgBurn I've noticed that if I open the program up and burn a 360 game that I can't just go and load up another blank DL dvd and burn another game without getting errors.

So now I burn a game and when it's done I close the program and then I go and restart it and I don't have any of the problems that I was having.

You could also try restarting your comp.

Hopefully this helps you like it did with me.

Good Luck.

I found this worked to get back some Memorex DVD+RWs. In ImgBurn, Tools>Settings>Read> Ignore read errors, tick that. Then do a full erase and do it again if necessary. It worked enough to cure the error message the discs would then record ok, but some are still not good, but that's just crappy Memorex.

try using clonecd. I don't think I have ever had an error with it. It works great.

It's round, silvery and with a hole in the middle.

LOL!
I think he's asking if you are using Verbatim brand DVD+R DL disks made in Singapore, or India per some users, burned at 2.4x or 4x.
Funny reply though.

No, these are Memorex DVD+RW single layer Infodisc A10s I've had for a year, which I use purely for video transfer between PC and PVR - I thought they were ok for a while until Nero started spitting them out a while back. It was only recently I found ImgBurn and its ability to ignore read errors and format them properly. Using it, I've successfully brought back some of these discs from the brink of being binned permanently - a great little program. Never again Memorex though - Verbatim from now on.

Additionally, ImgBurn also brought back to life a cakebox of Datasafe 2X DVD-RWs that I thought were junk. Ok, they're still junk, but now they work, for a while at least.
