Hi,
I tried to install a DVD on my evolution x hard drive on my xbox. but the DVD movie title is not showing up in my games title list. But i can tell that the DVD has taken up 4GB worth of drive space. How do i get rid of this DVD title now how do i find it to delete it?
Please email me at:

Have you tried opening it with a media player? From my limited knowledge on the subject you can't just launcd a DVD the same way you launch a game (though you may be able to make it do that with a bit of editing the .ini file).

If you want to delete it you'll have to install boxplorer to browse the content of your HDD and delete the files of the movie... **CAUTION** you can easily screw up your xbox if your delete files that you should have left alone

I tried to look in Boxplorer. I looked in every file in every folder and i can't find any of the Video files that had been copied on from the DVD.
Is there any other way to find these files????
there names "VTS_05_1.vob" etc...
Thanks

Cant you FTP in to you box and run a find to look for *.vob
Not sure what you use to FTP so can't tell you if it has a find function.

What program are you trying to use to watch the movie? 'Cause if you are trying to use XBoxMediaPlayer, you'll have to make some changes to the config.xml file in order to be able to see those files

My xbox is stand alone i can't ftp it from a pc. I tried looking in the video section in XBMP and found nothing. I wish it were easier to just look at all the files on the drive and just delete what i don't want. I know what all the files are named...VTS_01_1.VOB etc..
I'm upset about loosing almost 5GB of my drive for this silly mistake I made of trying to load in a DVD.
Errrrrr!!!

s8nsch1ld is right your best bet is to ftp so you can have a proper good search on you xbox hdd
have you tried booting to the original dash and checking your memory from that?

i looked in the memory area of the original xbox. In there i found 3 sections called OXM Disk 27, OXM Disk 24, OXM Disk 28. I'm not sure what these are. There is also an "unknown Title" section. All the other sections have the name of the games i have intstalled. And then there are three or four sections with "xmediaplayer" "xtoolbox" etc. I'm not sure what i can delete in here without messing up my evolutionx.
Thanks for your help

well it ain't them then
did you install your chip your self?
if not :-
because you could really do with asking the bloke to ftp it to his pc for you
it would only take him 5 mins to get into your xbox via ftp delete the large file for you the price of a pint surely?

I can't believe that there is no other way to find the file in boxplorer.
The guy who did it for me would charge me 75.00 and i would loose all the games i have in the system.
He would take the system back to original. He's not into looking around for things if you know what i mean.
If you can think of anything else i'd really appriciate it
