I've been a visitor to this forum for several years and I've usually been able to find answers to my problems by going through the many threads. However, I cannot seem to find an answer to the problem I am having now.
I have been using DVDFab HD Decrypter, DVD Shrink, and DVD Decrypter (and recently ImgBurn). The movies rip onto my hard drive fine and compress with Shrink fine as well. However, the problem I'm running into is the burning process. The movies will not burn onto the blank DVD. It'll either not get passed the "write in" phase or it'll fail during the "finalizing" phase. If it does make it to completion, the DVD is unreadable. Looking at the back of the DVD after it is complete, I noticed that the DVD was hardly even used.
I have tried several suggestions from the thread. I've tried changing the program to run as an administrator; I've tried changing from DVD Decrypter to ImgBurn; I've reinstalled all the programs; I've tried installing AnyDVD and ran it in the background; I've tried turning off the user Account Control; I've tried changing all the programs to run as Microsoft XP (since I have Vista); I've used two different types of DVDs; I've tried burning at a slower speed. But still no luck. At this point, I don't know what it could be. I don't think it's the DVD burner because I can burn music files just fine and I can watch DVDs on it as well. I don't know what else to do accept throw it out my window.

Also, the dvd burner that I'm using is a Optiarc DVD RW AD-7530A, which there is no firmware for.

I know that TDK isn't that good (which I just started using) but I've also tried fujifilm as well. But I guess I should get some verbatim or taiyo yuden like everyone recommends and try that.

You can't go wrong with Taiyo Yuden's or Verbies. You'll be pleased with the results.
So I went out and purchased Verbatim but the movies still aren't burning. ImgBurn completes the burn but the DVD's won't play. And looking at the back of the DVDs, they look incomplete.
