when i click continue anyway it comes up as; I/O error and then it says; invalid field in CDB
i know you people are the experts so please someone give us an idea i hope i havnt wasted all that time downloading this file
Yeah your gonna need some dual layer dvd's. Verbatim's are good and I use DVD+R DL but I've also heard -R works as well. Make sure to burn at 4x. However, "invalid field in CDB"? Do you not have a DVD rom on your computer? If not, your gonna need that too.
hi thanks for your reply, yeah i have a dvd rewriter on my comp, i have already wrote pro evo soccer and world champ darts but this one is really giving me trouble. do you think it will work fine then if i buy some dual layer discs
Brawl is a dual layer game, and therefore requires dual layer disks to burn it properly. There are ways to burn just the first layer and the multiplayer and online modes of the game will work, but sub space emissary and some other parts will not work.
Actually I'm not sure, I did hear once that you can filechop the DL iso down to the size of a single layer game, but I don't know anyone who's tried it so I don't know if it'll work.
When the japanese version of the game came out someone reduced the size of the game from 8.5gb to 4.7 and uploaded a torrent of it, i dont know of the methods of how this was done and frankly i dont think anybody does so you'd just have to wait for the dual layer disks to arrive. You cannot put 8.5gb worth of data on a 4.7 dvd-r, it simply cant be done.
The early single layer versions of the japanese game weren't reduced, there was simply no way to rip a DL game at the time. In fact, the early DL copies of brawl had each layer ripped separately and then joined together with the command line.
This is what leads me to believe that filechopping the DL image down to 4,699,979,776 bytes will result in a single layer copy of the game.
