I am having a situation where I use DVDShrink and then burn with NERO 6.0.
After the burn is complete (15 minutes later) my DVD-R is still empty (nothing has been burned to it). I also notice that the red light on the DVD drive isn't showing during the burn (meaning it's not actually burning).
Any tips?

I'm not a Nero "freak" when it comes to backing up a dvd movie m8.Be sure that you're not writing in simulation mode. If you're using the latest DVD Shrink 3.14 then you can use DVD Shrink to burn your backup m8.

When ever you make a back up a of a movie with Nero no other drive in my computer can read it only my DVD + R drive can. I have a dvd rom drive and a cd burner a plextor and the disk shows its empty in them.

Any DVD-Rom should be able to read a back-up. Unless its like one of the first DVD players made. Because my DVD burner and DVD-Rom can both read dvds that were burnt with Nero 6 Ultra. So I dont know why your DVD-Rom cant read it. Oh well it happens.

Ahh. Well considering the Plextor Premium doesn't burn DVD's(atleast according to http://www.plextor.com), you need a DVD burner to burn DVD's. The Premium burns CD's at 52x32x52x(write,rewrite,read), which isn't a big deal cuz i've had a 52x24x48x cd burner for more than a year now, so nothing new. And only a DVD-rom can read a DVD not, a cd-rom can't. So thats why it doesn't work in any other of your drives.

Stonecold, back to your original post. I would uninstall both Nero and Shrink and then re-install them. Looks like something in the programs aren't right. They usually work well together. If still no go, come back with burner model, some system specs, and type of media being used. Someone on here will find the problem.
