i have a psp with a broken screen. i've decided that sending it to sony would be the best option because i don't know where i could get it repaired locally.

there is one thing though...

it has custom firmware on it...do you think that would be a problem? would they get mad for some reason? should i try to somehow blindly use my pandora battery to restore official firmware?

if so, could you tell me how?

thanks in advance.

Personally, I think Sony will get mad if they find that cfw on your psp. Their firmware is copyrighted and any kind of modification and re-distribution of it is illegal. My advice is to play it safe and try to find any local electronic shop that could repair your psp. It would probably be a little more expensive but it could save you heeps of trouble with Sony. If you cant find any shop then search the net or look in your Yellow Pages or newspapers.

Or what you could do is try and get some money by selling your psp and use that to buy a used one. I wouldnt suggest doing a blind install for you can birck your psp and then loose it completely. If you decide in doing a blind install then practice on a friends psp. Just make sure you know waht you are doing!! Good luck...

or better brick it just connect the flash0 to the pc and format it

o look no more cfw

if you are in warrenty you will still have to pay for the screen.

(you might get away with this im not to sure but if you say it way a brick its covered so just say the screen brock when being shipped and they will replace it for free)

acctually sony doesnt have to repair the psp they can jsut send it straight back and you still gotta pay for S&H because if you have custom firmware on a psp it voids the warranty and any rights you have with sony
