hi there im having problems setting my internet up on the xbox 360, i have a wireless router but am trying to set it up with an ethernet cable but it says i need to set it up to except isp adresses or something like that and i havent a clue im not no all with consoles so if anyone could please help would be very grateful

if that doesnt work then ur router might be the problem what type of router do u have?

Usually if you are hard wired into the router with an ethernet cable there are only a few things to do.
1. make sure you go into the router settings and forward the ports needed for Xbox Live (also in your firewall if your using one)

2. if the router is like mine and has security and it is enabled (which it should be) that information needs to be put in the 360 for it to make a connection. You'll need the SSID name (name of the network), your security key, what type of encryption used (WEP, WAP and also there is a line with something like TKIP on it)

networks are a funny business and there are just so many little things that can stop you from making the connection that the only way to get it solved is by trying one thing at a time. I would make sure you have the Xbox 360 set up with all automatic settings, make sure your PC has connection sharing eneabled, make sure the PC has DHCP eneabled, and turn off any firewalls and antivirus software when you do your next connection test.
