I can get the 0078FK Hitachi drive in modeb with Slax 2 or 2.1( tried both)but it's not recognized in Windows when I reboot the computer.
I tried it on two different computers but I always have this problem.I followed the tutorial "Hacking 360 for Dummies", wached the tutorial video, googled for solutions-nothing helps.
I bought via 6421 card from here:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16815124022.
I updated the drivers, tried to disable Raid, but there is no option to do so in my BIOS. I hit the dead end.
Any advice is apreciated.

Device Manager; CD/DVD Drives: Right click on this then choose the option "Scan for hardware changes".

I'm a new member but I have the utmost confidence this will solve your problem.

Are you using Vista? I hear it has problems with that. Also did you try the other SATA port on the card?

ok i use a via card and in my pc i also have a sil card and i have flashed many 0078's i found on some not all that you are better of disabiling any other card's u have and using the master port on the via card this would be the one nearest to the front of the pc also i use an original dvd movie as this has somtimes made a diifernce i also dont have the option in my bios to disable raid but i never had any probs with that. i use toolbox 4.6.
i did have probs at first with the slax disc but dissabling the sil card corrected this.

Thanks for your help everyone, I did it!
It was the sata card that didn't work good for me.I tried silicon Image and that one recognized it but I couldn't flash the drive with it.
So I used a computer that had onboard sata ports and that worked flawless.Flashed the drive in under 5 minutes.
Thanks again!
