connect a USB thumb drive /external HD directly to a PSP

I'm a bit of a noob.... My question is if anyone knows if there is a way to connect a USB thumb drive or external HD directly to a PSP. Basically I want to run my ISO, homebrew games on the thumb drive or be able to transfer from the thumbdrive /external HD to the memory stick in my PSP without using the computer.Since I already have thumb drives and external hds it would save me from having to buy another pro duo memory stick.

I have slim running CFW 3.90m33-3

I'm guessing you probably can't or i would have been able to find more threads and people talking about it.

I guess noone wants to reply because I asked a big noob question.
I did some more research and found what I think I want that will work. A usb enclosure with OTG "on the go" for a laptop HD so i can swap my games and movies onto my psp's memory stick without needing to carry a laptop. can't play them from the hd but at least I can swap the games in and out.

enclosures about $20.

You cannot connect a USB thumbdrive to a PSP, since it doesn't have even close to the right port. You could use a laptop to carry around a HDD full of games around, and transfer them over USB to the PSP when you want to play. External PSP harddrives are obsolete now.
