I couldn't get the internal DVD to read any of the discs I put the installer on, so I was wondering if perhaps it would work to put the PC-DVD Drive in(alongside the XBox drive, so as to keep the yellow plug connected) and install the bios and such from that drive. Will this work?

what media format did you use? eg. cdr cdrw ect...
if you used a cdrw did you do a full erase?
i'm not sure about the other way i think it still has to be modified? maybe someone could help quote me on that? it's alot of messing around when it could be media or it's not been burned as an image very very slow?

Have you tried putting a large dummy file in with the slayers iso before you burn it? i had to do that on one of my thompson drives, it wouldn't read anything on cdrw so i made a 500mb dummy file and put it on a DVD-R and it worked fine.

i've tried brand new CDRWs, and even did a full erase on CDRW that has worked in the drive before....I don't have a DVD burner.

How do I do the dummy file thing? I asked this in another thread and was never answered.

all i did was use craxtion to extract the slayers iso, then added a 500mb video that i renamed to video.old and put it in with the other files, then remade the iso with craxtion. worked fine.

sounds to me like you are choosing to burn it as a data disk and not a image. In Nero go to the file menu and select burn image to disk, then selcet your ISO. It must be named default.xbe

When you make a dummy file, put this file in a folder by itself. You then include this dummy folder when you make your ISO. So in your ISO you have:

default.xbe (file)
evox.ini (file)
abc.dat(folder)
--dummy.dat (in above folder)

Just put all these files in an ISO, craxtion is good to use, then use Nero to burn the image.
