My PSP randomly shuts down on me .. whethers its playing games or just changing the wallpaper. I haven't done added anything new to my MS recently and just finished charging it last night. So what seems to be the problem? I thought maybe the battery's fried but the battery says full..bought my PSP summer 2005 in Japan, any ideas?

edit- I think it has something to do with the battery. When I use it while plugged into the AC adapter, it works like normal no problem at all. But unplugged, it would randomly shut off on me in less than a 5 minute span. The battery is at 100% charge. Should I replace the battery?

try what the others have mentioned.

but i would like to add, just fyi.....(though not certain if this applies to a psp battery) most rechargable batteries......do actually have a life expectancy. after that...they just dont take a charge....they way they once did.

if you drain it....or try the other suggestion (i would drain it completely first then try and recharge) you may just need a new battery......finally. its been three yrs??

how do you drain it. you need to tape it in the on/off position...so that it cant fall back into positon. this should, drain it....completely. double check when its completly off. Worth a shot, before, you go to any expense.

:)
