in Vista without connecting the PSP to my PC? I can connect my Sony Mem Stick ProDuo (4gb) directly to my pc. I'm trying to get this home-brew thing going but I can't get it to work with Vista. I have a Pandora's Battery as well.

Thanks guys!

OK, I've been trying to downgrade so that I can mod my psp for almost a month now and no luck. I tried the guide above but I can't get this to work.

Here goes: I have a psp phat with 3.73, not modded. I also have a tool battery (pandora battery) already made. I need to convert my (Sony) Memory stick ProDuo 4gb into a magic mem stick. I also only have vista and I don't know anyone with a modded psp. Every time I ask for advice, I'm redirected to a link where I can unbrick. Thing is, I don't have a bricked psp so I don't need to unbrick. I'm just getting frustrated because it seems that everyone has a modded psp and I can't figure out how to mod mine. Is there anyone out there that knows how I can downgrade so I can get homebrew onto my psp? Again, my pc has a cardreader so I don't think that I need to connect the psp via usb, right? Please help.

Thanks!

if you want to downgrade to 1.50 using pandora you will need something of hellcats. if a friend has CFW then tell him to install UPMS v4 on your memstick as that has the menu pre-installed.

(+[_]+) the best console!

if any one wants their PsP haxxord, and they live in the dunfermline area, PM me

one, you need to use something smaller than 4gig.

two, vista is a 50/50 chance; it either works, or it doesn't

it doesn't matter if the psp is bricked or not. pandora's battery is the safest way to get custom firmware.

Thanks guys. I'm gonna pass on trying to mod this thing.

Vista is 50/50, my 4gb card is too big to use as a magic card. It's not worth the trouble anymore.

should have put in a better words.

4 GB are not recommend for pandora. But it does works, sometimes, it depends. (worked for me all the time).

The guide I gave u is a universal unbricker guide. It can not run on Vista. Then, im givin u a guide for UMPS, that does works for vista.
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/580254

Or ... did i read ur post incorrectly ???

EDIT: To give out more proof
Quote:
- A spare Memory Stick Pro Duo of less than 4Gb. (256Mb should be enough for all applications).
this was copied from the first orignal pandora battery instuctions.

Quote:
This will eliminate the issues people are having when attempting to create a memory stick using Vista as everything is done from your PSP.

From the UMPS guide

Another problem is that the guide that's linked requires a custom firmware psp. You see, that's what I'm trying to do, is get into service mode so that I can add custom firmware but I don't have a custom firmware psp.

you either have to hardmod your current battery, or buy the datel TOOL battery (only available online). no other way.

Oh, I have a datel tool battery. I thought that the guide only worked for psp's that are already running on custom firmware. I'll try it out. I just bought a usb cable for the psp but I only have a 4 gb mem card so I'll cross my fingers that it'll work.

@Angelr107

Here is the address...download it.
http://downloads.psp4noobz.com/request.php?58

This is the best UPMS installer i have seen.
it requires only a PC/Laptop, MS and your unmoded PSP (w/c is use as a memory card reader), ofcoarse a Pandora battery (datel tool bat)

BTW I used this when i semibrick my psp and my MMS is formatted on that time no custom psp to make MMS.

Just follow the the instructions, you need to download the some ofw updates..i think you know where...

Tell me if it doesnot work for you..i will give you another way..just detail what really happened..

Popi, I used the installer and it seemed to run smoothly but I'm still getting a blank screen. By the way, I have 3.73 firmware (not custom) installed already. I'm not sure if that'd cause a problem.

I installed the mms creator from your link. I opened it and formatted my mem card then connected my psp via usb with the memory card in the psp.

I then loaded the four eboot files and clicked "next". Installed ipl into the mms. Once done, I installed tmi (1.50 phat & 3.40 OE phat) clicked "next". Installer was done so I closed it. I then removed the usb, turned off the psp, removed the mms and reinserted it. I removed my normal battery and inserted the datel tool battery and the power light came on but nothing happened. Am I doing something wrong or is my psp just not customizable? Is there an easier way to get my psp to run in service mode since I already have the datel tool battery?

Thanks.

ive been following this closely, because i myself am in the same predicament, ive got a psp 1001 model but it has always been upgraded to official firmware, now its at 3.72 and im having a helluva time with the pandora battery trick considering im on vista, not to mention none of my friends have modded psp's....

heres what im wondering... so you say upms will work without another psp?

also, my mms could be arranged wrong but im hoping someone could tell me a way around that... ive run everything thru as admin and im pretty sure its correct. btw its a 1gb sandisk mg enabled

F*** 3.72 FW!

There should be no problem in moding your PSP, what ever official firmware your psp is...hmmm i think there is no problem on the installation of your MMS...i think the problem falls into two aspects...

1. the your using a 4 Gb MS which i never tried before...try to buy atleast 512MB stick...original or fake..there should be no problem on problem since our purpose is just to modify your psp console...
2. (very small percentage)...i never used a datel battery before..i never seen it in here in our country (Phil) maybe the battery cannot boot your PSP into service mode...

I think you're right about the memory card. I've tried this sooooo many times with different installers but I used the same 4gb memory card and no luck. I haven't heard any complaints on the datel battery so I don't think that's the problem. I'm going to buy a 512 mb memory stick and try again. Thank you so much for the guide, I'm sure the all-in-one mms creator will work once I get the new memory stick.
