dnas error -611???

I am getting this dnas error -611!
I know that my modchip is in sleep mode though.
I think it is because of my router...that maybe be a problem and i dont really know how to fix it.
Can anyone help?

try getting the ps2 online without the router see if that fixes the problem... if that ends up being the problem you might wanna call sony to find out what ports you need to open on your router to get the ps2 to transfer data properly.

that is kind of weird though because it worked fine for all the old EA games and socom 1 before dnas came out...YES, my modchip is in sleep mode. I guess I could give it a shot.

WEStar is probably right, from the unofficial DNAS FAQ at http://www.hostultra.com/~topper/dnasfaq.html
-Firewall or network with closed ports: A DNAS -612 or -611 error may indicate the presence of a firewall or closed ports.

If it is an EA game check their web site and search under PS2 using the Search Text "ports" to see what ports need opened

that happened to me with madden 2004, eventually the game stopped loading completely and i had to buy a new one, but oh well i'm so addicted to the game i bought another bout 2 hours later, lol how sad

I read this on the page too:
PS2 hardware incompatibility: It is rumored that older model PS2's with an old chipset receive DNAS error code 880 or 881. If you receive this error, call SCEA Consumer Services at 1-866-466-5333, or 1-800-345-7669 between the hours of 6:00am - 7:00pm (Pacific Standard Time)


I sometimes get this error...is there anyway around this or does anyone have any feedback?

my friend is having the same problem connecting his slim ps2 online, use to work before, now he's getting DNas -611, and he has tried it directly from a router and then to his dsl modem, and same error, he has tried manual and auto detection. and same crap. has any one fix this problem yet?

the type of modem he has is westell modem a90-210015-d4
the type of router he has is a belkin 5-Port Network Switch (10/100Mbps)
F5D5130-5

there is no firewalls on or present when he's connecting either. the sam thing is timing out.

It doesn't have the exact router, but it's a good place to start. http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/routerindex.htm Once you find the ip address of the router, you just open the appropriate ports for the PS2.
