Just wondering why i have on my psp 3.71 ofw under games a section for playing games on the memory card when you can only do so if you have custom firmware? Why is this function available when i am not able to us it with the firmware i have?
basically i havent done anything to the psp. its straight from the shops. after reading forums i have found out you need cfw to play games off your psp mem stick but i was wondering why under the games menu there is a 'games from mem stick' icon on the psp. just wondering why that was there in my psp when i have ofw 3.71 and i cant play games from my memory stick? or can i? lol

hi mate you can't play games off the memory card unless you have custom firmware for you to play games off your psp you will need a pandora battery and magic memory card.
ok, since i have two memory sticks...one with cfw on it and one....i just reformatted (just for you lol....to see, as i couldnt recall)....i think i see what you are on about.
if you......go to each icon Photo, Music, Video, Game etc....as you scroll across.....EACH has that same "Memory Stick" indication with the amount of space ON the memory stick.
This is....simply to show you, what is stored in each category. Nothing more. ON THAT....particular.....memory stick.
Now you say...you have an actual, GAMES FROM MEMORY STICK...'icon' well.....humm. Cuz i am looking......and under games (in my now very empty psp,)i have the following headings+icons: Game Sharing, Saved Data, Memory Stick/Free Sapace. Nothing like what you discribe. My psp, is not 2 months old. with 3.90 ofw atm. So.....with 3.71 ofw and you have yet done nothing to you psp....i would just have to say...'straight from shops' one of two things. Either thats the way it 'once was' set up, until the next version. OR.....it was a return, and someone had something on there?????
Other than that.....any of the previous questions....may still apply. But.....understood.....that you dont believe any of that was ever done. So....bit of a mystery (for the moment) but if it affects nothing.......i wouldnt worry lol. Just enjoy. :)
