I sent mine for repair on March 16, is it possible that it has the Lite On drive? i live in Portugal by the way, not the most advanced country... so i guess it would be less likely than if i lived in the US, anyway its just that i dont want to open my xbox cause i im afraid id mess up, plus i dont have a the apropriate screwdriver, thanks
I mooded mine back in December, got RROD 2 weeks ago, called microsoft and they sent me labels to send unit to Germany for repair. To my suprise came back yesterday fully repaired with new motherboard and different seal.. but still had Benq drive that had modded FW and it still played back up games without having to re firmware it,
I would so no.. you wont get new drive if sending for repair
I hope I dont get the Lite On Drive. I just sent back 2 XBOX 360 to M$ today. So I guess you can say that you have a 50/50 chance of getting the Lite On Drives if you buy the Xbox360 in a store and a Def. if you get it repaired. I bet if you buy that new XBOX w/the 60gig HD you are def. getting the Lite On drive. Hope a hack comes out soon or everyone will be looking for BenQ drives or just older Xbox360 and keep doing the Wisperfan and x-clamp ect.
