So first off, I am posting this for a friend, so with the limited information I do have, we'll see if there is any speculation you guys can think of that I didn't. I do know what I'm talking about, I have flashed many 360's so I'm not a newb in that sense.
Anyways, I just flashed his xbox, tested it with a backup and it worked. SO he ordered a kreon drive off of ebay. The sh-d162d flashed with kreon v1 I believe. Now I'm not there, and he couldn't figure out how to use xbc. I told him to go for schtrom (I use that and like it better anyways). So he installed it, went to rip a game and it gave him this error:
"cant get features list from drive! it is a kreon compatible drive, but don't seem to be flashed with the right firmware! drive is used as a normal dvd-rom"
I haven't encountered this problem, so short of reflashing the drive, any idea what would be causing this and how to fix it? Ideally, it shouldn't have to be reflashed because it is supposed to already have that done.
The only thing it might be, is he has it hooked up IDE to his via card, and I told him he might want to try hooking it straight to the motherboard. But anything else?
well, my friend said getting it off the via card helped. But now it is stuck at not being able to extract the ss.bin. I will assume this is an update he probably hasn't applied or so. If you have any other ideas let me know, otherwise this should actually be solved now (hopefully). Thanks
