Hey all. Okay, so here's the deal. I got my Xbox 360 on Friday. Now, if you ever played a PS1 game, you WILL know about the Gameshark. I got ps2, and also a Gameshark for that. Hey, I love cheating. I can't do it in real life, and who doesn't like laughing at the silly soldiers who try to shoot you, get frustrated, and run and stab you in the face, all to no avail? But, I digress. GameCube had some sort of action replay thing, o I got the Xbox 360 hoping there would be something similar. This is where the disappointment began. I looked up some cheats, and needless to say, there were few, if any. Viva piñata, a game I got recently (Yea, I know it's cartoony, but it's not terrible, which is good for me. It's actually kind of fun.) And there were some cheats, which could only be activated at the start of the game, and didn't do much of anything. GTA4 had some cheats, which I was happy about, but that's about as far as it goes. Now, I already looked up the possibility of trainers, and my results were fruitless. Funny, I played around $450 for the console, which claims to be more powerful than a computer, and yet it can't run cheat engine? So, I looked up Gameshark and action replay for the 360. Gameshark DID actually release something!!!! A media player. Sure, it's good considering the Xbox 360 won't play anything NOW in windows media player format, but it's not exactly what I was hoping for. So, does anyone know about ANYTHING like trainers, cheats, Gameshark, action replays, etc. to be coming out for the 360?
I...I'm sorry, what? What did you just say? I think I had something in my ear. Achievements keep us from using cheats and stuff? Oh...dear lord. That, may just be the single most idiotic thing Microsoft has EVER done. Wow. Achievement points, something useful only to...nobody, have single handedly prevented me from playing, completing, and ENJOYING a game. Seriously, what...what are they even used for? Bragging? Does anyone else see the irony in this? *sigh* Well, gta4 had cheat codes, that BLCOKED achievements if activated. Maybe, some of the other game developers will catch on. Let's just hope so, or I'm returning this piece of crap back. What's the point of having more exclusive games if I can't log into Xbox live without paying? Or if they try to sell me something at the very STARTUP screen? Man, Microsoft has had some serious blunders before, but this, to me, is probably their biggest screw-up yet.
first of all, M$ (for once mind you) has nothing to do with this. They have achievment points correct, and as metioned before they can simply be turned off. Two people are at fault here, and by the way you arnt the first to complian. The game devs. for not puttng in game cheats in. And the 3rd party market for not making and after-market add-on kit. write to a gaming magazine and make your voice heard. trust me when we yell they listen, their jobs rely on it.
