Well. At home I don't have a HDTV, but when I was in Oslo in Norway I had an HDTV I could play on, and that made me get myself a HDcabel, but at first it appeared that the console did not respond to the HDcabel, but actually, I just had to find the right channel on the tv. When I came home I had to switch to the regular cabel (Red, yellow and white) but now the Ps3 don't respond. I have tried switching it of and on, I have tried finding the right channel, but the meny just don't come up. Any responds?

First try to hard rebooting your PS3. You do this by holding the power button down and waiting for 2 *beeps*.
If method one does not work (or you've tried it already)Got to the settings part of the XBM. In the settings part of the XBM, there should be a setting specifically for "display". I believe when you get there you have the choice between:
-Component
-HDMI
-RCA cables
My guess is your PS3 still thinks that you have its hooked up with the HD cables.
