I've been using AfterDawn for a long time, and I have soldered many chips before into different systems.
I recently soldered 2 D2Pro chips into 2 D2C Wii drives.
I've checked the connections on the board, and i can't find any place that is screwed up in any way.
However, when I assemble it back together, it doesn't accept any discs. I try to push it in, and nothing happens. No response what so ever, but the system boots to the Wii Channels just fine.
WTF is going on?
NOTE:I am getting a red light in both of them. I'm guessing that means they aren't working...
Given that you say you have done many installs on various systems, you obviously know what you're doing so it would seem likely to be some form of hardware failure in some component or possibly a dodgy batch of chips. I doubt that there is much anyone can tell you that will be of use.
