Hey, so I am contemplating buying a second XBox 360, and I wanted to see what you guys think. I have one right now that is flashed (samsung drive inside) however, when I play some games, the graphics are acting fairly weird. I have a fear that it will red ring soon, because this is what happened before my last 360 red ringed. Now do you think it is worth getting a second 360, in case it red rings and M$ doesn't fix it? If I were to get one, I would probably try to get one soon so I don't get screwed with getting a lite on drive.

Well, let me know what you think!

I think that you should wait and if youres does rrod than buy a refurb because you will most likely get an older one as the newer ones are less prone to rrod because of the change in die size and psu.

Sorry m8 I have to disagree with waiting and getting a refurb console. He could just get a new console now,and it would be better than a refurb. When it comes to Xbox 360 systems there really isn't a version that is prone to RRoD.Microsoft might have something with the Jasper version, but honestly I have no clue yet.I know the Falcon boards can RRoD,and all the version before it.The Falcons are built a little better, but it can get the RRoD like any other before it.For some reason not really sure why Microsoft are dumb when they try to fix the RRoD problem, and the reason I say that is because this problem has been going on for years.

Don't waste your money man, if anything you should buy a ps3...if you don't already have one

Thats my advice anyway, your going to invest on a console you already have? wich will keep malfunctioning constantly, doesn't seem like a wise investment to me

But like I said that's my advice

Me personally i'd wait for as long as possible,of coarse if your's claps out tomorrow then you have no choice unless you get it repaired, reason to wait is to try & get the latest & possibly an update console assuming more changes are in the works.

Yeah maybe a PS3 if they ever release some more games for it.The only game for the PS3 that comes to my mind at the moment is MGS4,other than that I can't think of anything else.I hate to say it,but most game developers are going to the XBox 360 since it is easier to program for and they can make the same amount of money.I do agree the XBox 360 system is built like crap, but it does have the best game library in my opinion. If you wait your more likely to get a system that may be cheaper, but it shows how cheap the system really is.My logic comes from the PS2 system, when they redesigned it to a slim piece of $#!t to save money on production cost. The PS3 redesign with the 40GB and 80GB models left out the emotion engine for backward compatibility which makes backward compatibility run off emulation. The 20GB and 60GB models for the PS3 are the only systems that have it,and I don't think Sony will produce a new model with that chip inside it for backward compatibility again. You do realise that they are stripping the consoles everytime they redesign them to save on production costs.I don't think Sony and MS will ever change the way they redesign systems as they have been doing this for awhile now.

Well, I already do have a ps3, and a modded wii, and a modded xbox. So obviously I like to do some hacking :).

My fear is that if I don't get the 360 now, that if my 360 does rrod, and MS doesn't fix it, I would have to buy a 360 that I can't flash for my backups. So that's my angle when trying to decide if it is worth having another one...

Now would probably be a good time to buy a second 360. I regularly sell new modded 360s and K-mart was the only store that I could find a couple that didn't have Lite-on possible lot numbers this weekend. Now I'm resorting to buying them on Ebay while they last. You just have to make sure what lot number the console has before bidding.

If non interrupted gaming with backups is as important for u as it was for me, definitely get a flashed back up. that way you are safe. its worth it for the peace of mind

what is the lot number that I need to make sure I get so that I don't have a Lite On? So, hypothetically, if it is 870, would I want to get any below lot 870?

Thanks for the help.

They aren't up that high yet. 0750-0816 is what you want. Those are all BenQ with Falcons. Lite-ons start showing up after than and by 0820 they should all be Lite-on.

well, tried to go and pick up a 360 from best buy. Apparently, I can't look at the consoles themselves. I have to tell the cashier that I want a 360 and then they go pick one out. Any good excuses I can tell one of them why I want to go through their stock and pick the one I want?
