i was wondering how to download and play psp games on the 3.95 fw, i just got a psp yesterday and i want to play downloaded games on it. where do i go about doing that. please help

you cannot play games off the memory stick on official firmware.

read THIS guide. pandora's battery and magic memory stick is the ONLY way to get custom firmware on 3.51+ firmwares.

Yes, you need custom firmware, the best way is to give the PSP to a professional to make the things to not mess into the stuff. Also if you want to make it, you will need Pandora battery and Pandora magic memory stick. Try to YouTube that.

so there is no way to play any kind of games for free, no emulators , demos or nything without changing my fw?

is there anything cool to do on a psp , im kind of bored with it and i have only had it a day. . .thinking about taking it back to the store!
