Now I dont think I heard something like mine yet, but I did drop my PSP, but it was pretty short (hoping its nothing too bad) but, it works COMPLETELY fine, EXCEPT, it doesnt even seem to try to read UMDs i put in. When it dropped the UMD popped out, as did the battery, battery case, and the UMD cover popped out a little bit (not too much) if this matters.
Im just wondering cuz it doesnt even seem to notice I put a UMD in, no lower right loading circle, no sounds etc. Im thinking something got loose but I want to see what you guys think.
Again, dropped it, a few things fell out, wont attempt to read UMDs, its like i didnt add one. I dont think the drop did too much other then maybe knock something out of place, because it works perfectly other then the UMD
(Things ive tried include taking out battery and putting back it, restarting PSP a couple of times, and reseting everything to default)
No one? Is it just broken? Because everything else works. Does it sound like a laser problem, because from what Ive read, when people had a reading UMD problem it was making some kind of sound or it was showing some sign of trying to read it, mine isnt.
Its a psp slim isnt it? Damn, how many times have I had your problem? LOTS! try putting the cover back on and see if that helps because there is a little plastic thingy that presses a plastic spike on the far side of the drive.
sorry for my crap answer but I have just got up and am as tired as sh*t!
ok make sure that the umd door is put back on correctly first then try it.
to test the drive its self you should see a little black switch inside the drive just push it down a tad and the laser should start.
if the laser doesnt work tthen a ribbon that connects the drive to the mob may have become loose (though this is very unlikely as they are very secure and they are very hard to remove bby hand)
