I was playing with the TP hack to load on VC games and injected wads.
Everything was fine.
Stupid me, I thought why not try changing the picture/title of injected wads to match the actual ROM inside.
I took a Sim City ROM and injected it into a Zelda LTTP VC wad. It worked fine.
I took the same injected Wad, followed a tutorial on editing it to have the save game/icon/wii channel pic match the ROM.
I loaded that onto my Wii via the TP hack. Seemed to load just fine. Wii resets and I get the "System Memory is corrupted. Please refer to the manual for troubleshooting" screen right after the "Press A to continue" screen. The wii doesn't go past this screen and I can't access any channels.
I'm gonna have to agree with ggbarnum in that there's really nothing you can do yourself at this point.
However, since you're not modded and the system memory has been corrupted there is little chance that nintendo will be able to tell what you were doing that broke the console.
Turn on your Wii Hold down the + and - buttons during the Health and Safety screen
While holding down those buttons, hit A
See if it will boot up this way.
If it does you can try saving game saves to SD card then formating the Wii Memory. Unfortunately you will lose everything you have saved to it. So try backing up files to SD card.
Have no idea if it will work or not but wouldn't hurt to try.
What, so you're going to have a mod chip installed on the off chance that you could then possibly recover from a TP hack boot disk. I can't see that working anyway, your memory is corrupted. I would just get it fixed by the big N.
Yes but you don't have a mod chip installed. If you want a modchip then thats fine I guess, but if you don't then its easier just to get it fixed. Hey its your wii, do what you wish :)
