I posted a few days ago about my 360 not showing video. It starts up fine, I can hear it start up, hear the game playing through the speakers, but no video. The advice I got was to try the X-clamp fix, which I'm trying to find right now but still haven't decided if I want to give it a try. So I was curious if anyone else had problems and sent their 360's back to MS out of warranty? How much did it cost you? Because I also called a joint and told them the problem and they told me $125 to fix the problem which they apparently get all of the time.
One if the xclamp really would fix your problem then it would be ridiculous not to try it. I mean you're only needing to invest maybe 20 bucks in parts or less and your own time.
MS probably won't give you a quote over the phone but you can find out haw much it would cost to send it to them and get it back. If they tell you some outrageous cost then tell them where to go.
Does 125 bucks cover to and from shipping to this other cat? If not then you're probably going to creep close to the 200 dollar range once you ship it depending on how you ship it.
It's up to you but if it was mine I would try to fix it myself and if it didn't work then sell it and get as much as you can and invest it in another 360.
Do the math you can sell this one for 80 bucks and add that to the 125 you might spend with this other guy for 205 bucks. That's pretty close to a new 360 right there instead of fixing one that might die on you later on down the road again.
Well the place is here in town about a minute away, but it's still a lot. So I was kind of curious if sending to MS for people was inexpensive because i've been reading so many posts where people sent theirs in and were sent back a new one, even without warranty. So if that would cost less or around the same to do that it'd be sweet. Thank you for the response
