i just sent in my 360 to microsoft without a warranty sticker i did flash it but i unflashed it before i sent it in... what are the odds that i will get the 360 fixed
no, they will just send it back to you saying, it is not under warranty because the warranty seal has been broken. basically all you are out is the time it is taking to send it to them and have it sent back. my advice would be if you have the red lights to do the xclamp fix.
The chances are if you send the box back now they will return it and possibly charge you for the postage or attempt to I know this has happened to someone I know. In the past basically when this was an ew problem M$ were just sending out new consoles that had the ROD problem but now they are repairing them and returning them repaired so they will most likely spot the security sticker has been removed, My friend just told them that he had bought it apperently new and had no knopwledge of it.
But let us know how you get on it's worth knowing these things
Whats the problem with it, if its not RROD theres every chance they'll open it up, if its a DVD issue id say you've got no chance really because they'll inspect it.
I sent back an untouched 360 with RROD and a stuck DVD draw they replaced the DVD and repaired the RROD problem. the covering letter said extensive test have been carried out on the unit prior to repair and after, it then listed the fixes.
You never know they might be really busy and just send another out, but my understanding is they try to repair all and send out new units only when that repair fails. A good example is sometimes when reballing the CPU and GPU the components are damaged so they just send a new unit.
But fingers crossed, if its a bad DVD drive you can always get another off ebay then copy the key from the bad one.
Yea they'll just send it back saying you have no warranty. My cousin accidently ripped of his warranty sticker and called M$. And said it shipped like that. They told him that it wasnt a problem and that they could tell if it was opened or not. Supposedly they have "special tools" Well thats what he was told by the guy. Anyway is there a good guide somewhere on this forum, i cant find one, about replacing the 360 dvd drive?
