Using Firmware Toolbox 4.6 (also tried 3.0/4.0). Everytime I press Save when creating my original file in Direct Drive Dump the program freezes. It's definitely in Mode B. This has been driving me crazy for about a week now! Any ideas?

i need a bit more info for eg/ when u are in mode bdo u have the drive permenantly closed with an original dvd or game in it please take me through the steps u do to the frezze point inc the slax procedure to get to mode b

Ok I Boot Windows using my Slax 2 disc.
It says spinning up disc, so I press eject to solve this problem.
Slax loads to the login screen.
I restart my computer (The drive is in Mode B).
Windows recognises my drive. (It's in My Computer and Device Manager)
I use a genuine DVD and keep the drive closed permanently.
I open Firmware Toolbox and try to do a Direct Drive Dump but when I press save the program becomes non responsive and the DVD stops spinning.

Help?

please forgive me if i sound simple but do you check for signs of mode b eg if you close the drive it opens on its own or u press ej 3 times and it stayz closed ??? im just wondering if this is a windows based error?
what os are u using?
