I don't know much about this kind of stuff, so please don't give me too much of a hard time....

I have well over 500 DVD's and I go on trips with large groups. I usually end up bring my DVD's for everyone's movie entertainment. I'm getting really tired of caring all my DVD's every where. I've got a program that converts any DVD to an ipod format, and that works ok, but my ipod video only holds so much, The largest movie file I have on my iPod right now is Transformers at 1.5 gb.

I started to think about how Western Digital has a tiny 320GB hard drive, and wondered if I could somehow add one as a "second" hard drive to my ipod, then thought why can't someone add a play button, a set of outputs, and a small navigation program to a WD portable hard-drive and basically have yourself a Video hard drive player, for portability. A screen doesn't matter since I would use a projector or tv for my display. Does anybody make one or something like this?

This is what I use. I keep asking afterdawn to open up a forum for streamers and hard drive players like this one, but so far, nothing.

http://www.tvix.co.kr/Eng/products/HDM6500A.aspx

You can add a 1 terabyte drive to this, and bring your whole media library with you.

in the U.S. they sell for $399. I would check the main site for a legitimate supplier for your country if are thinking of getting one.

Beware of ebay for these. I heard of a problem with a seller selling them directly from Korea and you can not change the default language from Korean with the latest firmware updates.

Also, if price is an issue, they sell something close to Tvix called the "popcorn hour". I think it sells for around $176 US, but it doesn't have as many options as the Tvix player does.
