today xbox live is tellen me to download a update anybody know what its for and when i mod my box should i download the updates from xbox live when it tells me to or should i wait thank you
if you havnt modded it yet download, even if you have modded i would say download. there is no update that i know of. and for down the road notice, you are correct you do not update unless you know all is good.
The thing about updates is this, and why people keep asking about them is beyond me.
Modded console or not, you HAVE to update, you have no choice. Well, actually you have two choices.
1. Do the update
2. Never get access to XBL until you do.
yea, but my thinking was alyways when they release a new dash update dont accept the update. wait and see if ppl are getting banned or not. if they are, then wait until a new fw comes out before you accept that update. if no one is getting banned then just go ahed and download it. am i wrong? would that not work?
Yes, it is possible that could work depending on WHEN Microsoft decided to start banning people. Sometimes it is not done right away so you may wait a week thinking it is safe since no one reported trouble and then MS may drop the ban hammer and get everyone.
Personally having one modded for offline, and one not for online prevents me from having to worry about any of that.
