So today I got news of the new xbox experience dashboard update being leaked and hacked. You cannot download it anymore and is seen working and explained at this site http://xhavok87.wordpress.com/2008/07/26...ard-08-leaked/. It cannot be installed on a xbox with hacked firmware you need an xbox with an Infecus 2 modchip. It installed through a mixed media disc. They said they will have a beta realease half way through August. Hopefully now by the time it is released by Microsoft they will have a version of it working for consoles with hacked firmware.

Excuse my NOOBology, but does this mean hacked firmware cant not use this, and im guessing this is a ploy by MS to get moded systems off live? Im hoping I DONT have to download this jus tto play live.

Well hopefully by the time Microsoft releases it we will already have a new firmware that you can flash your xbox with. By using the update I have started to develop a new firmware but I am just making base adjustments now and other people will probably be done way before me. Since we have a copy of microsofts update we can now adjust the firmware to allow it. There is no reason to download it early though because you won't be able to use the new features like Netflix untill microsoft starts up the servers.

I forsee a delay in the Fall update now because of this. Wish this did not come public untill after the update.
