I apparently got some "old" version D2Pro's which weren't D2C2 compatible and came with this little... nub, that looks like an SPI addon, but doesn't have any chip on it, just 3 solder points. What?
Anyway, I heard the new D2Pro's are upgradeable via. DVD these days, but I can't find any information about it on the D2Pro homepage.
I need to make these two D2Pro's D2C2 compatible, but I don't have the D2Prog thingy.
D2Pro = 13/15/19 Wire Installation. (No DVD Upgrade Support).
D2Pro9 = 9 Wire Installation Added SPI for DVD Upgrade Support.
D2Pro9 Rev2 = 9 Wire Installation (same as D2Pro9) but added Oscillator for D2C2 support.
So in order to make your D2Pro compatible with D2C2 drives you would have to add SPI and an Oscillator.
They offer SPI add-on's so you can change your D2Pro to a D2Pro9. This gives you 9 wire firmware compatibility on D2C drives (You would also need to buy D2Prog to install the 9 wire firmware to the D2Pro Modchip before DVD Upgrade Support is enabled).
However this does not make the D2Pro9 D2C2 compatible. You will need to add an Oscillator and as far as I know they do not offer it.
So your only option as of now is buying D2Pro9 Rev2 Modchips for the D2C2 Wii systems you have.
