ok so i got anotheir 360 and need to get a power brick and i have saw their are 2 different kinds of them 2 and 3 prong can i use either or do i need a certain one and if so how can i tell which one i would need

you can use either one as long as that is the style of power brick you need (i think newer models have a different plug in type on the 360 side). The difference is in the 3 prong style the third prong is your ground.

The two prong style is the newer of the two power bricks so i would get that one.

Old bricks (3 prongs) can safely power anything, old and new.

New bricks (2 prongs) can ONLY safely power new consoles that are rated at 175W.

If you do anything but that, you'll have a potential fire hazard.

now that you metion it, that would be a hell of a lawsuite. i bet they didnt state anything like that on the packaging if what you are saying is true.
