I just downloaded the setup disc jap ver.1.3. I burned it and put it in my wii and it wont load. Please help.

You need to run the config disk to turn on region override to let you play import games. But backups from the same region as your wii should load without a problem.

And your better off running the 1.9s update and then using the 1.9s config disk than trying to use the 1.3 config disk.

I tried that too. It sounds as if the wii is reading the disc then stops.

Do backup games work at all? You said you have a japanese wii, so japanese games should work if you have the modchip installed correctly.

First use the firmware disc for your region. After that you can use the setup disc for your region and turn the region compatibility on.
the Jap config disc is useless unless you have a Jap console.

I have a Japanese wii. So im trying to load the japanese confing disc but the wii will not load any burnt disc.

If the wii doesn't load any burned disk, even japanese region game backups, then the wiikey is not properly installed. Check and make sure the clip is seated properly and pressed all the way down.

Did you try the firmware disc first? In my experiences, the config wont boot without the firmware.

Then all I can tell you is, one of the chips is bad or it is installed incorrectly. You could also try one more thing, try burning the firmware on a cd rather than dvd or the other way around.

If that doesn't do it then confirm its installed correctly. If it is, then I would contact who you purchased it from for a refund.
