Thank you, should i keep the settings at np9660 after doing all this?
Could i just forget about adding icons etc and just use one of those iso converters and place it in the iso folder or is it advisable to continue all the way with the eboot and keys then place it into the games folder?
I didnt expect there to be so much to this, when i used to play them on the pc it was a case of having an .iso using and emulator, plugging in your ps1 pad and away you went

http://www.realz2reelz.com/SEPLUGINS.rar just extract the first .rar then it will be in a 3 part rar you will need to extract again, then just copy popsloader.prx, pops.txt and popsloader folder to the X:\SEPLUGINS\ of your memory stick

I have tried it all now im sure getting so fed up, thanks for the tips shaggy have that on there also got it from elseware popsloader 3.90 with all the old firmware bits in it, but copied yours into it too just incase it was missing something vital, i also have a conf file in the seplugins folder?
I really am giving up now argh I have 4.01 m33-2 on my fat psp with popsloader 3.90 and all the old firmware bits in it copied into the seplugins folder - i also have the newsardumper file in the games bit so i could have added extra old firmware if need be (between 3.0 and 3.75 - in the recovery bit popsloader is enabled, umd iso mode is at np9660, i am using that zinga burga's popstation that everyone raves about, have tried with two different games now just downloading my third already converted game which i suspect wont work. Am putting the keys and eboot files into the games folder in their own named containing folder....what the heck am i doing wrong?! Could anyone that thinks they could help and has patience add me to msn or email me please ill even send print screens if you think you can figure it out and will make it easier!

I am having a similar difficulty loading ISOs that unfortunately has not been overcome by the suggestions I have seen to date.
I have installed (on a new PSP slim running initially OFW 3.90) 4.01 M33-2, and set UMD mode to Sony NP9660, and disabled the two options in advanced menu in configuration.
The ISOs are installed in the ISO root folder.
I can select the games in the games menu from the memory stick but every time with the three games I have tried I get:
The game could not be started (800201148)
Any advice will be appreciated.

reset your psp while holding the R trigger then goto advanced > format flash 1 and reset settings this will change things to default and can fix odd problems
other then that you can try iso umd driver M33 and with or without a umd may help and make sure under homebrew your game folder homebrew is set to 4.xx kernel

Thanks for your advice
Making some progress! I am now able to play some games but not others.
I have reset flash 1. I have tried changing the driver to M33 - no effect.
I have set the CPU speed to 266.333
Of the 20 games I was loaned to try, I can only load 3. I also tried downloading a game which works.
Do I need some other driver?
Do I need to modify the format of the games? They are all ISOs/CSOs

@rensti
well its odd that it will play some but not all that usually happens when the game requires a higher firmware and again usually it will give you a message to update but your on CFW 4.01 m33-2 so you shouldn't have trouble playing 17+ games unless they are damaged so maybe finding a better source for isos, like making your own backups for those that don't pirate and you could even try converting the cso's to iso.
those are the two best driver settings i use m33 driver fine but others prefer sonys iso loader either way both work for me.
@Kloshar
have you tried formatting the 8gb card with the psp?
and try one of my earlier posts.

no, stick with the latest kernel and i would try upgrading your firmware to the latest 5.00 m33-3 if none of the previous posts have helped and then recheck everything starting with formatting the mem stick with the psp with the latest firmware just incase there are any glitches or bugs with your psp but i started on 3.80 and have never experienced any game loading problems other then psn demos which required a little tuning in the recovery menu and i even have 2 fake memory sticks that are performing fine even with a full set of enabled plugins so see if upgrading does the trick

of i think i know what it is from... maybe the memory card 8 gb is not right. I should be able to copy everything on it (no matter what FW am i using) or there is something that i must do with the ISO's before i copy them ?

well pc's usually dont pick and choose what files they can or can't copy right, and if its magic gate supported then it should be a real memory stick without any problems copying and loading at fast speeds so try using another computer or another memstick too see if you can narrow down the problem
