My wii using wiikey. I insert the top spin 3 disc and it call for an update, it stopped around 50% for so long, I can't reset or power off the console so I unplugged the wii. now, everytime I put back the disc, it keep loading forever and not doing the update again and the game start up screen not even show up anymore. I try to put the Aerosmith disc which I know they will call an update too but it happened the same thing, just keeping loading and loading. I leave it for a whole day but nothing change.

I try to use the wiikey recovery disc, wiikey 1.9s & config 1.9s, still nothing to do with it.

Can anyone help please? Many Thanks

If I turn the wii on without the disk, everything is normal excepted I have a duplicated news and weather channel now.

First you need to determine if you have bricked your wii, or if its something else. You said you put in your aerosmith disc and it does the same thing, but you didnt mention if the Aerosmith disc is an original or a backup. (We really need to know if your wii is still loading original discs) Also try to get into your wii settings menu and then report back on what you find.

Hi blkloyus,
My aerosmith is also a backup. My wii still can play original and backup. Any games which already updated before still work fine, either backup or original. Wii settings menu is normal. I try to get system update but there is no new update available.

1.I would think you can wait for the new update, maybe that will fix it.
2.Try use the wii firmware downgrader.
3.Send to Nintendo

k, so some backups run and originals still work...Just not newer games and now you have dupe channels. Really this does sound like a partial brick but you can still get into the menu...odd.

Heres what I would try. Go here and download the patch for your region.

http://www.coderetard.com/2008/05/22/wii...ario-kart-ssbb/

This is a stand alone system update that runs under the gamecube emulator and will restore your firmware to 3.2 regardless of what you have now. I've used this prog a few times to fix partial bricks on customer wii's. I dont know if it will help you, but it cant hurt to give it a try.

Hi ggbarnum,
Since I interrupted during Top Spin 3 update, I can't load this game anymore. I guess Aerosmith require the same update, so even I put it in, same thing happen, it just keep loading and loading and no game start up screen pop out.

The fact that you have duplicate channels means you have run an out of region update, which is never a good idea.

You should run all non region games through brick blocker before burning to disc this would disable the update.

Did either of those games ever work ? Because it sounds to me like there is something wrong with them.

Have you tried running them through Gecko ?

ggbarnum,
I am a newbie. All my backup games are bought from local store and everyone works fine. My friend has the same wiikey chip as mine. He used to buy the backup games from local store and burn a copy for me. He load the Aerosmith first and the update work fine. Then his Top Spin 3 didn't need to update. However I play Top Spin first, when I load the game and the update stuck in half done, so i unplug it. Then it won't read anymore for these 2 games.

Errr, you buy backups from a local store ?, that would be commercial piracy !!!

If all your other games work and you are at the latest firmware, which you say you are, then I would say the problem is with the disks.

You could try dumping the iso and running it through brick blocker and then reburning it. Or running it through Gecko like I said in my last post.

hi blklotus,
So you suggest he that I download the patch and restore the wii firmware back to 3.2? After it done, what should I do? Should I connect the wii and update it back to the latest 3.3? Will it do anything to the wiikey 1.9s software? Do i need to do the wiikey 1.9s update again?

Try the firmware and restore your machine to 3.2, after that try running the update on the aerosmith disc and see if it takes. This will not effect your wiikey in any way.
