Ok so I'm really new to any of this but I've been living in China so I'm not up to date on all this wii stuff. My friend just randomly gave me a wii a few weeks ago, of course it's the japanese version, and it's semi bricked! I have no idea what chip it's modded with but I THINK the game it was bricked with was Ironman. I didn't even know about bricking until it was bricked! So then I started reading about how to unbrick it but I was wondering if anyone knows what is the firmware version for ironman and if there are any jap games out that I can update with and unbrick my wii! I know ironman is a relatively new game so I'm not even sure if a newer update is available yet. All my games play fine, but I want to keep my wii healthy! I need help! Also, is Nintendo going to do something so that wiis can play games from other regions? I can't afford to buy a new wii that's a US version and I really don't have time to learn Japanese!!!!

If you can install the homebrew channel you could try running the downgrader app, that will install any version of firmware from 2.0 upwards in any region.

You can run it just through the TP hack also but its easier with the homebrew channel. There's a thread for the downgrader on the front page. You could try looking into that also.

If you hadn't come here acting like a whiny baby you might have gotten more constructive help right off the bat.

I mean, look at your subject line! You are lucky that you didn't get flagged for a non-informational subject line.

That having been said. I really behooves you to try to figure out what kind of modchip you have so you can eliminate a lot of future guesswork.

You could try a S/N check or loading a burned GCOS disk to figure this out.

well it's just my area of interests does not lie within fidgeting with gadgets. I really don't have the time so please don't critisize me. I just want to enjoy playing the games. :)
